In this program nationally renowned storyteller/musician John Porcino will spin a patchwork quilt of his most beloved tales and songs to celebrate the new year and warm up the chilly winter's day. Together we'll enter a world were woolen mittens burst into laughter and snow banks melt to reveal a blooming heart. Joyful, warm, playful stories and songs that celebrate Winter's hidden light.
About John Porcino
For 35 full time years, John Porcino has been telling stories and singing songs that tickle lifes funny bone and touch the heart. Each year he spins some 120 performances and workshops for enthusiastic people throughout the Northeast and beyond: this year from "Florida to the New York Island.” A resident of Amherst, John is an auditioned artist on the Massachusetts Cultural Council Roster and the Massachusetts Touring Roster. His publications include the book Spinning Tales: Weaving Hope and the recording A Heck of a Way to Stay Warm: Stories and Songs That Kindle Winter’s Hidden Light. He is director Farm and Wilderness "Family Camp," a founding member of Pioneer Valley Cohousing, and most importantly dad to two fantastic young adults.
