The Tracy Grammer & Jim Henry duo is synonymous with impeccable musicianship, tight harmonies, a diverse repertoire, and the kind of musical chemistry and humorous banter you’d expect from musicians who have been touring together for more than a decade. A typical show features original songs by each artist, including Henry’s "Home to Me," a tribute to the Pioneer Valley; Grammer’s “Good Life,” a in honor of her late father; at least one sassy mandolin/fiddle instrumental; and highlights from Dave Carter’s award-winning catalog (The Mountain, Crocodile Man, Gentle Arms of Eden). From there, the set list could go anywhere. Past set lists have included songs by The Decemberists, Tom Russell, Crowded House, Kieran Kane, Woody Guthrie, Brandi Carlile, and Lucinda Williams.

ABOUT TRACY: Tracy Grammer is highly regarded in the folk world for her open-hearted, entertaining stories, soothing alto, spirited fiddle, and guitar work that is punchy and intricate. A one-time member of Joan Baez’s band, she has traveled throughout North America, Europe, and Japan playing her own songs and those of her favorite writers, while also paying tribute to songwriter Dave Carter, with whom she performed and recorded from 1996 until his sudden death in 2002. Called “one of the finest pure musicians anywhere in folkdom" by the Boston Globe, and "a national treasure" by Jay Wilensky of The Folk Project, Grammer is a longtime Falcon Ridge Folk Fest favorite and is among the most-played artists on folk radio over the last 20 years. She is celebrating LOW TIDE, her eleventh album and the first ever to showcase her original material.

ABOUT JIM: Jim Henry is an accomplished songwriter and one of folk and Americana’s go-to instrumentalists, just off the road from a three-year stint as a member of Grammy-winner Mary Chapin Carpenter’sband. With an arsenal that includes acoustic/electric guitars, Dobro, and mandolin, Henry adds whatever the songs require – be that rich, ambient textures or sparkling solos – and he does it with an ease that mystifies fellow players in the audience. In addition to performing with Grammer, he also accompanies Eliza Gilkyson, The Boxcar Lillies, Paula Cole, Susan Werner and is a member of Surly Temple, The Threesies, and The Pistoleros locally.
